Back on the wagon again...

I have busted mine arse since last Dec to get 30-35 lbs off. Unfortunately I have been a slug recently and wallowing in my hatred of myself usually allows some poundage to creep back on. Go figure. Time to get moving again. Why does my brain not scream to my lower half YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU EXERCISE MORON! For some reason it does not so I have to make myself do it.
Justin is enjoying school. His teacher seems a little tired to me (or at least she did at the open house) but he really likes her and loves riding the bus and eating lunch at school. AHHH the joys of first grade :) He and Hannah are both playing soccer this year so I think I can officially call myself a soccer mom. Lovely. They both like it. Hannah is a little dramatic(shocker) and is constantly tripping over the ball and doing some drama fall so people will notice her falling. She is SO 4. Hard to believe she is almost 5 and will be riding the bus herself next year!
Ryan is just Ryan. He's 2 and that should be all I need to say. He is sweet and totally lovable one minute and the spawn of satan the next. He is birth control. My sweet, smiling, curly headed form of birth control. Whatever works!

Another day in paradise...

OK...so I'm feeling a little more normal today. Less like an escapee from an asylum.
Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Hormonal me

I am a lunatic. At least that's how I feel. I am an irrational lunatic. My poor defenseless husband. He spent the morning chasing his tail trying to help me and that just pissed me off all the more. I pray it is hormonal and that my period is around the corner. Never thought I'd wish for that! If that's not it, I guess I need to figure out what the heck is wrong with me. I hate everything right now. It doesn't help that I am exhausted. We have something going on every second of every day and I just need some DOWN TIME. It's my fault. I over scheduled the past few weekends. Last Friday I wasn't feeling good and we had friends on the way in town to visit. We had a wonderful visit with them, but the bottom line is, now I'm extra tired and still feeling like garbage. Now I feel even worse because my husband probably hates me too. Isn't this a positive and uplifting post?? WOW. I just can't wait for the hormones of menopause to hit. I'm going to need to be institutionalized.

First day jitters...

Nothing can break a mama's heart faster than eyes brimming with tears over first day jitters. In Justin's defense he wasn't just being a nerd. This is not only his first bus ride, but also the first ride to a new school that he never even had the chance to step into. He has been so excited but today...well not so much. I managed to calm him down and then his new buddy Richie came to walk down with him. That made him very happy. I got to chat with the moms who don't know me so hopefully now they maybe feel like they do, and Richie informed me he would make sure Justin got where he needed to go after they got off the bus. He's a good kid. Now mama bear feels better too. I know he'll be fine once he gets there. He has always been outgoing and can make friends anywhere, it's just getting him there.

Tomorrow's the big day....

Justin's first day of school. Hard to believe the summer has come and gone already. He is in 1st grade this year so it's the first year of all day school. I think he'll be wiped. Right now he's just excited that he gets to take a lunchbox to school. It's cute. I have to appreciate these days for all their worth. It's only a matter of time before he is dreading it.
The BBQ yesterday was fun! Lots of good food- my favorite- and the kids all had a blast. I love it when you can toss kids together who rarely see each other and they all get along. It was great catching up with old friends too. It's been so long that we have been gone from Ohio- it's great to know we can still hang out with our favorite friends. Looking forward to more fun times like that.
Of course the weekend came and went in the blink of an eye- always does. We got a lot done, but I am craving a weekend where we don't have any big plans or major projects needing finished. Should be sometime in the year 2027. I'm really looking forward to it :)

Just brought to my attention...

Another blogger, who I read faithfully because I love her zany sense of humor and down to earth nature, just brought to my attention something really important. The 2996 project. http://www.jamulian.com/db911/ Someone put this incredible idea together where bloggers all over the world can honor someone who tragically lost their life on 9/11. I signed right up. Anything I can do to honor those memories of that day that still haunts me and will never leave my memory. I signed up and got assigned a victim. I am immediately touched by his smiling face. The picture is of a man brimming with life who didn't get to finish it. I am honored to give him a tribute on this coming 9/11.
I just started this blogging business and I'm glad I started in time to be a part of it.

Saturday blahs...

Saturday always seems to come and go to fast. We went out to run some quick errands today and got home a whopping 6 hrs later. That's insane. School shopping is close to done so at least I can mark that off my list.
In the meantime- I forgot I planned a family BBQ with some friends who haven't seen the new house. When did I plan that for? OH!! That's right- TOMORROW! Shit said I. Guess I better get going on that. Should be interesting- their kids are allergic to everything furry and we have quite a few fur covered creatures. Hopefully it'll be a nice day and we can just hang outside. Otherwise it'll be the shortest gathering ever imagined.
That's all for today. :)

The first edition

Gonna give this blogging stuff a shot. I figure I can just ramble about random life events since basically no one will be reading this but likely me :) So here goes nothing...
You know how when you move into a new neighborhood everyone watches you for awhile to see what you're like, politely introduce themselves, continue to watch/pass judgment (am I sounding a smidge paranoid??)...Anyways- ya know what I mean?? This new neighborhood is annoying the piss out of me. Kids who could play at my house last week, can't play here this week. My kids can play at their house, but not vice versa. Weird? Me thinks, yes. I'm needing to walk my happy ass down and find out what the issue is. Are they afraid of my dogs? One of them escaped the fence last weekend and had a run-in with the neighbors dog- not my dog's fault- hers bit first, but I digress. Do they think we are weirdos? Do they think I'm not keeping a close watch? OK so my 2 year old has escaped twice, but I didn't know he could open the damn door on his own until he did it. This doesn't mean I'm not watching the kids!! LOL :) Just that Ryan is more capable than I once thought. Anyways...it's pissing me off. This neighborhood is a big high school clique and I find it endlessly ignorant.
